On Wednesdays, we have our mid-week programs and small group studies for all ages.  Activities and classes for all ages begin at 6:30 pm. There is something for all ages, and so we encourage everyone to attend the Wednesday programs.  The Scripture reminds us to "Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18).  Therefore, we urge you to make every effort to make Wednesday nights a church family night - and to set aside the evening time to come for a time of fun, fellowship and spiritual growth.  Also, this is an ideal time to invite a friend, neighbor, co-worker or anyone that you want to bring to our W.O.W. programs. Fill in your choices on the sign-up form that is included on this page and submit it.  If you wish to help or lead a group in the future or have any questions and/or suggestions, please talk to our Minister of Christian Education and Spiritual Formation, Felicia Kumar.  You can call her at 615/459-2826, extension 13,  615/553-2044 (home) or email her at: felicia.kumar@smyrnafirstumc.org,

ENCOUNTERS ON THE ROAD TO THE CROSS

There will be a four-week Lenten study that will begin on Wednesday, February 24th and will end on March 24th. During the forty days of Lent, we follow Jesus from His temptation in the Galilean wilderness to the cross on Golgotha. Although we can follow these events as mildly interested observers, there is another way to understand them: as deeply engaged participants we can become participants in the Lenten drama through the men and women who encountered Jesus on the road to the cross. The study begins each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and will end by 7:30p.m. Please make a prayerful commitment to be a part of the Lenten journey. Extend an invitation to your friends, neighbors and co-workers and be blessed by it. 
 


“LATE BLOOMERS” Women’s Bible Study -Led by Nita Wright

Late Bloomers (Wednesday night, Room 305) and Morning Glories (Friday morning, FH) Bible Study groups will be studying Radical Renovation: Living the Cross-Shaped Life” by James A. Harnish. Radical Renovation is a powerful image of what can happen in our lives during the season of Lent. Just as a house can be rebuilt after it has fallen into disrepair or devastation, so God can enter in to our brokenness and completely rebuild our lives so that we can become the kind of people in whom the living Christ can take up residence and through whom the loving purpose of God can become a tangible reality in this world.



SOUL PRAYING-Led by Dr. John Michael Jones
We will begin a 9-session class on Soul Praying.  Sessions include 7 types of praying people, soul praying communication, practicing God's presence, praising the Lord constantly, the eternal triangle of prayer, believing the Lord completely, new concepts for your prayer life, learning to wait upon God, and how to become a God magnifier.



WHAT IS BIBLE ANYWAY? PART 2 
Led by Moses Kumar
The Bible proves God is intimately involed in, familiar with, and concerned about the lives of people.  His amazing love is shown in the death of His Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross.  These truths are found in the pages of Scriptures.  The only way to find this out is by prayerfully reading and reflecting on the Word of God.  This class has completed studying together the books of the Old Testament.  As the new Year begins, the class will focus in the study of the New Testament.  Even if you were unable to be a part of the Old Testament sessions, you can join the class as we explore the hidden truths of the books of the New Testament.

Parents, bring your kids on Wednesdays at 6:30pm for a time of fun-filled Bible lessons that are both developmentally and spiritually appropriate. Then head on to your classes to be renewed spiritually!

INVASION

A Wednesday evening time of worship, fellowship, and discipleship and goofing off. This time is for 7th grade through senior high students. We gather in Fellowship Hall at 6:30 p.m.  All are welcome to come by to experience this time of spiritual and social renewal.
