Warmth In Winter 2012: The Biggest Event Ever...armth
With each year comes a new theme which is always based off of a Bible verse. This year, the theme is"thinkBIG," derived from Ephesians 3:20. Past themes have also tied into current world events, such as the winter Olympics ("Going the Distance"). Highlights of this event revolve around a featured speaker, band, and various workshops. About the Speaker: Megan Hutchison
Megan Hutchinson, author of I Want to Talk to my Teen About Addictions and Secret Survivors, headlines as our main speaker for this year's event. In addition to her books, Hutchinson has also co-authored the international sensation Life Hurts-God Heals. An interesting note for teens, she is also a youth pastor and loves her job! More... CASH USERS: If you plan on using cash to pay, PLEASE place the money in an envelope BEFORE you give it to me. I'm going to stop accepting cash handed to me randomly because it isn't labeled and when I go to turn it in I don't remember who gave it to me.
So PLEASE place cash into an envelope and label it (who and for what). Thanks..
Fine Details:
Sleeping arrangements
Youth will sleep at SFUMC in the Fellowship Hall both nights. Adult chaperones will also sleep in the room with the youth to keep watch and for emergencies.
Bathing
Last year we were blessed to use the showers at the Smyrna YMCA!! We are hoping to be able to use them again this year, otherwise we may have to just settle for a garden hose.
Food
Youth will need money for dinner for Friday night and Saturday night. $15 x 2meals.
Transportation
We are planning on taking the Church Bus.
