Our Church Council has voted to formally partner with the John Colemon School...this means there will be many opportunities to do mission work on a local level. It is our goal to offer relevant, meaningful support and to minister to the children and employees showing the love of Christ in all that we do. John Colemon School was selected with special emphasis on local mission at neighboring Wherry Housing. We are collecting Box Tops for Education. The box tops are used by the school Librarian to purchase books for the Library. Please save these and place your box tops in the bag on the bulletin board by the Church Office or turn them in to the church office. Students and staff of John Colemon School have been given flyers with information about our Clothes Closet. If you have donations to go to the Church Clothes Closet, it is located at 121-A Claeborne St. Operating hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to noon.
Our "15 Baskets for the 15th" initiative yielded twice as many baskets as we estimated, with all put to good use!
The Principal, Dr. Phillips, and coordinator of the day, Guidance Officer Mrs. Ernestine Barnett, were so appreciative with massive delivery of the healthy snacks. The faculty was so happy and surprised to have another demonstration of love from our Church. They all expressed such joy at these attractively filled baskets.
Thank you to all who contributed food items, baskets, assembled baskets with food, packed them, delivered and completed the baskets with fresh fruit on-site for distribution to the classrooms.
Thank you to the "JCS TCAP-Healthy Snack" project contributors:
