I have been a member of this church for 5 1/2 years. I know that God had brought me here as soon as I walked through these doors. I knew then that this church was special and that Jesus dwelt here. I did not realize until then how desperate I was for his presence.
I can not believe how much God has graced my life since I joined this church. I am part of a family here who all have the the same desire to worship God. Through the many programs that I have been a part of--Alpha, Disciple 1 & 3, Youth Leadership--I have grown so much more as a disciple for Jesus Christ. Also, I had the honor of going to a Walk to Emmaus which was the ultimate change in my life. God has been with me so much over the years and I am glad that my family and I are part of a great church!

Smyrna 1st is my second home. The leaders are an inspiration to me, and they make me and my family feel blessed, safe, and loved . Our church family has been there in desperate times-- with prayer, support, and friendship. Being involved at Smyrna 1st has changed my life; giving me confidence, security, faith, encouragement, and hope, just to name a few. Jesus has truly blessed us at Smyrna 1st!

What has Smyrna First meant to me? In a nutshell: family! When we moved here in 1985, we were greeted with smiles, smiles and smiles. We got involved with the youth and their missions to Mountain TOP which changed me from just a church attendee to a future 'missionary'. Being involved with choir, Sunday School and UMW really expanded the fellowship. The Disciple Bible studies, especially Disciple 1, really showed me the connection between the Old Testament prophecies and the New Testament reality. That is a big one for me. Other Bible studies, adult Mountain TOP, and other mission trips have enforced and strengthened my faith. The people at Smyrna First UMC have been super supportive both in their prayers and financial help. They never cease to amaze me!
