ENCOUNTER (Sunday Nights)

“Storying”...we began last fall on a journey through the Bible but in an entirely new way. “Storying” is
so much more than just reading about the biblical narrative; the youth are involved within these stories of our spiritual history. The youth actually enter into the stories and are invited to share what they see,
smell, hear, and feel while experiencing these stories firsthand! We have all been experiencing the Bible
through our neighbors perspective, and WOW! the things we are learning and experiencing TOGETHER
have been amazing. We are all going through this experience with the same understanding...
we are all a part of these stories and that the stories are STILL BEING WRITTEN !
Anna Bolin, Drew McDonald, Matthew Johnson are the adult leaders and are supported by Kim
Picklesimer.

A.S.K. (Wednesday Night)

Last fall we began a new small group of older youth that meet on Wednesday evenings during W.O.W,
(6:30-7:30pm). We began this group for the purpose of providing a separate time for the older youth
who are hungry for more and long for deeper experiences of their relationship with Christ. A.S.K. gets
it’s name from Matthew 7:7-11. It serves to illustrate that a true follower of Christ is proactive in their
spiritual development asking, seeking, and knocking so that they receive all that Christ has for them.
Stacey and Doug Dodge are the adult leaders of this group.

HIGH ADVENTURE RETREAT

Words are simply not enough to describe how exciting and scary this day was. We spent an entire day at new Frontiers hiking up a steep hill to tackle the Zip Line, which was well over 50 ft. high and about 250+ yards long. Many of the youth were able to accomplish the Zip Line, however, others gave it their all and got WAY outside their comfort zone. Then we looked for metaphors about how our lives as believers were similar to what we experienced. The insights the youth shared blew us away. After lunch, we hiked back up the mini-mountain to try the Giant Swing! This experience started with a 5-7 ft. free fall followed by a breath-taking swing out over the tree tops. If you want to get a feel for it without doing it, you need to ask Anna Bolin about her experience. Again, not everyone actually swung, but they again pushed themselves WAY outside their comfort zone. We are so very proud of everyone and learned a lot about each other, pushing ourselves and fellowship. We will definitely be going back, be sure to sign up when it comes back around!!
