COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Our faith leads us to join with God in the work of restoration and healing the broken places in our world.
FOOD PANTRY
Jesus specifically names feeding the hungry as one of the directed works of mercy. Our Food Pantry services the local community with staple food items intended to last the average family for three days. The Chapel is open on a first-come first-serve basis every Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM to distribute the food items and share fellowship with all who are in need. Donated food items and volunteers are always welcome!

BACKPACK FOOD PROGRAM
Food insecurity affects communities of all sizes, but its impact can be as close as right next door. The United Methodist Women's Group works to provide weekend meals for disadvantaged students at Smyrna Elementary School. Their goal is to deliver 50 “backpacks” of breakfast, lunch and dinner items each week.
SPARROW'S NEST
Jesus said, "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me". Our parents-day-out childcare program welcomes children ages 2 to 4 on Monday and Wednesday 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Each child is assisted in development academically, emotionally, and spiritually using both secular and biblical themes. The classrooms are equipped with a variety of child friendly toys and learning centers for aged- based engagement and creative play.

PROJECT TRANSFORMATION
God calls all believers to lead others. Project Transformation utilizes a United Methodist-based curriculum to harness the creative energy, leadership and curiosity of young adults with the potential of children and creates a connection with local area churches. This connection allows College-age young adults provide leadership and mentoring to area children during a summer camp hosted at Smyrna First United Methodist Church.
DISASTER RELIEF
The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is the global humanitarian aid and development organization of the United Methodist Chruch. UMCOR works through programs that address poverty, hunger, internal and domestic emergencies and global health issues. The goal is to provide immediate relief to alleviate human suffering caused by natural disaster, political turmoil and civil unrest.
